Full Time

20 years of experience in providing executive consulting for cybersecurity and IT clients needs in a vCISO role for compliance, CMMC and more.

We want to take a moment to recognize the 1 year workiversary of Scott Campbell. Scott joined us with the hopes to help us grow our Cybersecurity and CMMC program. We had a lot of growth in this sector in 2020 as we were added to the GSA Schedule, and started working on helping to better secure the DOD supply chain through our CMMC RP consulting services.

While here Scott has brought a level of sophistication and careful planning that has been a huge asset and help to our clients. Lets take a moment to learn a little bit more about Parrish and how he came to be here at Grove!

Tell us about yourself, your history of how you got started with Systems Engineering and how you got to where you are today.

I got started in web application development with .net and java in the early 2000s developing various line of business applications for different types of clients. As my career evolved over the years, I was spending more of my time as a lead software architect dealing with cybersecurity related issues. It was at this point I realized how much I loved cybersecurity and made the full jump into cybersecurity as a career by realigning my carer with security compliance related work.

What first drew you to Grove Technologies and what have you learned and how have you grown since you have worked here?

I wanted to come to Grove to help clients with their complex cybersecurity and compliance issues. I also wanted to expand my knowledge set with working since the majority of my experience was in Cloud Secure, SDLC, and PC side and I knew Grove was the perfect place for learning Macintosh security. I’ve grown a lot in my time here learning the ins and outs of Macintosh security requirements for comprehensive and mature security programs for CMMC and NIST.

Talk about the directions you hope to go in the future in terms of career development, what certifications are you interested in, and why..

In terms of career development I’m interested in cybersecurity consulting especially with compliance, cloud security, and pentesting. 2020 was a landmark year with many complex cybersecurity issues which will only evolve and continue to increase in proliferation and scope in 2021 and beyond. I’m currently pursuing my CISM as my next certification.

What is your overall motivation for doing the work that you do and how do you want to change the world for the better?

I think my greatest motivation is to help clients increase and fortify their cybersecurity baseline against threat actors. Cybersecurity is a really challenging and complex issue that can impact clients with things such as ransomware, spear phishing, and failed compliance findings that can have adversarial impact on both the organization and the defense industrial base for certain segments. I see myself as helping to defend and increase company cybersecurity baselines amid this ever changing landscape.

What do you like to do outside of work, passions, hobbies, interests?

Outside of work I enjoy working out and biking. I think it’s important to maintain a balance of physical activity and mental well-being. I’m currently learning about cybersecurity threat hunting and how organizations can integrate those practices into their incident response plans.
